The Domaine des Hauts de Vaugrenier is an enclosed residential area of 1,458 dwellings (985 appartments and 473 villas) built on 130 hectares of parkland. It is protected by 24-hour surveillance.
Situated in the commune of Villeneuve Loubet in the Département of the Alpes Maritimes, France, on a hillside overlooking the Baie des Anges, “The Domaine”, as it is known to its residents, enjoys panoramic views, stretching, according to viewpoint, from the mountains of the National Park of the Mercantour, right round to the foothills of the “Arrière Pays”, the inland countryside, by way of the bay of Nice and Cap d’Antibes.

A major advantage of the Hauts de Vaugrenier is the easy access from the A8 motorway. Half-way between Nice and Cannes, it is ideally situated just ten minutes from Nice International Airport, and an hour and twenty minutes from St Tropez.
It was Alvaro Maura, a developer well-known in the region, whose ideas led to the laying of the first stone of the domaine in 1976. At first a holiday development, it quickly became popular with many foreigners as well as French nationals who made it what it is today: both a permanent residence and a holiday home where life can be enjoyed. Few residents ever leave the Domaine. They point, first of all, to the security, one of the most important facets of life today, as well as the friendly atmosphere, a feeling of belonging to a family, and of course the peace. There are residents of all ages, and all their needs and activities are catered for.
Among the many facilities on site, there are an olympic swimming pool, several tennis courts, and a restaurant in the Club, an Association under the law of 1901, which manages all these facilities. It also offers a variety of activities such as a library, chess, bridge, scrabble, country walks, golf group, monthly English language social meetings, etc., plus computers and computer classes.

In the heart of the domaine, “The Village” provides basic shopping facilities including a small supermarket, chemist, dry clearner, and a bar which also sells newspapers and magazines in several languages. There are besides, a beautician, a dentist and an interior decorator’s, etc.
For ease of management, the Domaine is divided into eleven “hamlets”, organised as owners’ co-operatives or as housing associations. The general public areas, between the hamlets, are run by a management association or “ASLP”, (ASLP Les Hauts de Vaugrenier), which also deals with security and services such as water supply, drainage and cable TV…
Around a dozen guardians care for the security of the residents, while an army of thirty or so gardeners maintain the lovely grounds, and plant the many flowerbeds with displays which change with the seasons.
